The 9th Systemic Sclerosis World Congress, held in Athens from 5 to 7 March 2026, brought together around 1,000 doctors and researchers from 56 countries, alongside 200 patients from 24 countries, confirming its role as a leading global event for scleroderma research and care.
The scientific programme included plenary and parallel sessions, workshops, pre-congress courses, satellite symposia, and “Meet the Professor” sessions, creating multiple opportunities for learning, collaboration, and exchange.
Since 2010, AIM Group International has been the strategic partner behind the congress, managing all phases of the event from planning and communication to operations and stakeholder coordination.
One of the key innovations of the 2026 edition was “Champions of Progress – Driving Advance in Scleroderma Research,” an initiative designed by AIM to boost engagement within the scientific community. Inspired by the Olympic spirit of Athens, the project introduced a digital voting system for scientific posters and contributed to generating more than 100 additional abstract submissions compared to previous editions.
